Suryadatta College NSS Camp Concludes Successfully at Kule Village
The seven-day NSS Special Winter Camp organized by Suryadatta College of Management Information Research & Technology and Suryadatta College of Hospital Management, Travel & Tourism was successfully held at <b> Kule village, Mulshi Taluka. </b> Around 50 NSS </b> volunteers actively participated under the theme “Youth-led Water Conservation and Development of Fallow Land for Sustainable Development.”
Volunteers carried out cleanliness drives, tree plantation, awareness rallies on social issues, health initiatives, village surveys, and Shram Sanskar activities, winning the appreciation of local villagers. Expert sessions on mental health, youth development, women empowerment, nutrition, and personality development added academic and social value to the camp.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President and Chairman, Suryadatta Group of Institutes, appreciated the volunteers’ dedication and emphasized the importance of grassroots learning and social responsibility. The camp concluded successfully with the support of village dignitaries, institute leadership, and NSS coordinators.


Suryadatta Students Shine at State-Level ‘Sattvik’ Culinary Competition
Honoured by Padma Shri Chef Sanjeev Kapoor
Pune: Upholding its legacy of excellence, sustainability, and value-based education, students of Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management and Travel Tourism (SCHMTT) achieved remarkable success at the State-Level ‘Sattvik Vegetarian Culinary Competition’, showcasing their culinary skills rooted in India’s rich food heritage.
The competition was based on the theme “Flavours of Our Roots: Indigenous Recipes for a Healthier Planet” and was jointly organised by Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts and Nutritional Sciences (SSCANS), Jay Shetty Philanthropy, ISKCON Govardhan Ecovillage, and Govardhan School of Culinary Arts. Participants were challenged to prepare Sattvik dishes without onion and garlic, using traditional indigenous ingredients such as purple yam, horsegram, mahua flowers, and ranjan.
Outstanding Performance by Suryadatta Students
- Arjun Nambiar secured First Prize in the Savoury Category with his innovative dish “Purple Yam Stew with Neer Dosa”, beautifully blending tradition with modern presentation.
- Raj Gaykar impressed the judges with his creative preparations “Purple Yam Chokha with Horsegram Dhirda” and “Mahua Kharvas”, highlighting nutrition, sustainability, and authentic flavours.
The jury appreciated the students’ technical finesse, creativity, and strict adherence to Sattvik culinary principles. Arjun Nambiar was felicitated with a cash prize, certificate, and memento by Padma Shri Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, whose encouragement proved to be a great source of inspiration for the young chefs.
Leadership Speaks
Congratulating the students, Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President and Chairman, Suryadatta Group of Institutions, highlighted the importance of preserving India’s rich culinary heritage through nutritious, sustainable food practices. He said the achievement reflects Suryadatta’s commitment to culturally rooted education and national-level exposure for students.
The students credited their success to the guidance of Vice President Mrs. Sushama Sanjay Chordiya, Principal Dr. Rasika Gumaste, and Assistant Professor Prof. Adwait Bane.
Strengthening a Legacy
The ceremony also reaffirmed Suryadatta’s long association with Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Chef Kapoor is a recipient of the Suryadatta Suryabhushan National Award 2025, while Mrs. Sushma Sanjay Chordiya received the Global Culinary & Hospitality Excellence Award 2025 at his hands. SCHMTT was also ranked among the Top 10 Hotel Management Institutes in India, marking a proud milestone for the Suryadatta family.
Suryadatta Dhanwantari Hospital: Hands-on Medical Learning for Students
Suryadatta Group of Institutes organized a unique 3-day mock hospital – Suryadatta Dhanwantari Hospital – giving students real-time experience as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and administrators. The initiative, guided by Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya and Mrs. Sushma Chordiya, featured OPDs, IPDs, ICU, diagnostics, emergency drills, and hospital administration.
Students from Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Hospitality, Interior and other streams actively participated, learning healthcare delivery, patient handling, and holistic practices like yoga, counseling, and rehabilitation.
Renowned doctors and professionals were honored with the Suryadatta Dhanwantari Healthcare Excellence Awards. Dr. Chordiya announced that a state-of-the-art multispeciality hospital offering Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Allopathy will soon be established, further enriching student training and community service.
