Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management & Travel Tourism Pune.organized a visit for the first year students of BSc HS at Shivaji Market on 19th September 2017 at 9:00 am onwards.
The objective of this visit is that students should know the various commodities and ingredients Used in cooking.This visit was a part of their curriculum. Shivaji Market is one of the oldest market of Pune Camp, established by British.It is situated at the heart of the city.students visited various market like Fish(Pompfret,Rohu,Hilsa,Bombay Duck,Basa,Surmai Mackrel,shellfish like prawns,,Lobster,Crab,Mussels etc,Poultry,Mutton,Vegetables and Fruits,Beef, Pork,Venkeys outlet, Convenience food and International cuisine ingredients outlets.
By visiting each market students understood the various types of fish, their rates, transportion, and their preserving method, various cuts of poultry,Mutton,Beef etc.
Students also visit venkys outlets where they got to see various ready to cook veg and non veg products like chi.nuggets,cutlets cooked kheema,cheese and onion sausages,veg and chicken burger, Hariyali kebab, Salami Roll etc.
Students asked the question to the vendor regarding the products.
This visit was very useful for the students,surely it will help them in their study.
